Plain Iced Cake Base (Un-Decorated)
Our plain iced cake bases are the perfect starting point for anyone looking to decorate their own cake - whether for a celebration, practice bake, or as a wedding cake sample to taste flavours before ordering a DIY Wedding Cake Kit.
Each cake is made to order and includes:
- Two layers of delicious vanilla sponge (Other flavours are available)
- Filled with real buttercream and strawberry jam
- Finished with a smooth layer of sugar paste (fondant)
- Approx. 3" deep
- Supplied on a thin board the same size as the cake (hidden once finished)
The standard price includes a white cake. Other colours are available for a small additional charge - just let us know your preference.
Presentation & Stacking
For the best finish, we recommend ordering a thick cake drum for the bottom tier (or an iced drum for an even more polished look).
If stacking multiple cakes, dowel supports must be ordered separately.
Ordering & Important Information
- Minimum 3 weeks' notice is required for posted cakes
- Please tell us the date you need the cake for and your chosen colour (if not white) and flavour in the Special Instructions for Seller box
- Cakes are made fresh to order and can keep for up to 3 weeks, though we recommend consuming within one week of delivery for best results
We use a next-day courier and take every care with packaging. However, as these are cakes sent by post, we strongly recommend allowing plenty of notice so the cake has time to fully set before dispatch.
Orders placed with less than 3 weeks' notice can still be posted, but safe arrival cannot be guaranteed, and we're unable to offer replacements or refunds if damage occurs in these cases.

These are plain, posted cake bases, designed as a blank canvas for decorating. They are not finished wedding cakes and are intended to be styled by you.
If there are any issues on arrival, be sure to get in touch with us immediately so we can help - unfortunately, we can't resolve concerns raised after the event date.

Sugar, Wheat flour (with Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed), Dried Egg White, Dried Egg Yolk, Modified Starch, Whey Powder (Milk), Emulsifiers (Propane-1, 2-diol esters of fatty acids, Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, Sodium stearoyl -2- lactylate), Raising Agents (Disodium diphosphate, Potassium bicarbonate), Milk Protein, Stabiliser (Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose), Wheat Gluten, Flavouring, Salt.
Water, Glycerine, Vanilla Flavouring, Potassium, Margerine.
May also contain Soya.
Made at a site where wheat flour, dairy products, soya and nuts (hazelnuts and walnuts) are handled.
** 12" square cake can be ordered for post, but it is at your own risk as postage has been proven tricky with damages.
